What is a SIAM Maturity Assessment?
The SIAM Maturity Assessment is an objective, structured review of how well your Service Integration and Management (SIAM) model is actually working, not how well it looks on paper. It combines Scopism's proven maturity model, benchmarking against comparable organisations, and practical, prioritised recommendations that support leadership decision-making.
It's built for any organisation managing a combination of internal and external service providers, whether you're formalising SIAM for the first time, reviewing an existing model, or trying to work out why service quality still isn't matching what the contracts promised.
When to use a SIAM Maturity Assessment
- Establishing a baseline before starting, or formalising SIAM
- Identifying the next wave of improvements after a SIAM implementation
- Evaluating fitness of the SIAM model you already have in place
- Diagnosing the gap when service quality doesn't match what your contracts and reports say it should
- Supporting executive decision-making and roadmap planning
- Demonstrating investment and improvement as a service provider working with a client
What we assess
We evaluate maturity across the five core SIAM dimensions, aligned to Scopism best practice and tailored with real-world delivery experience:
- Governance & Strategy
- Processes
- Tooling & Data Management
- Measurement & Reporting
- People & Culture
Optional deep dives: we can add a more detailed assessment of specific focus areas, such as a process known or suspected to be causing issues, or a particular part of your supplier ecosystem.
How the assessment works
The assessment starts with a conversation, not a questionnaire. We sit down and agree scale, scope, timing, and the stakeholders who need to be involved before anything else happens.
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Planning | Agree scope, timing, locations and key dates. Virtual, on-site, or hybrid. |
| Awareness | We help you identify interviewees and frame the awareness emails and invitations before the assessment starts. |
| Initiation | The official start. Interviewees and interested parties are briefed on method, participation and deliverables. |
| Discovery | Document and artefact review plus structured interviews. What's documented, is it fit for purpose, is it actually used, and where are the real challenges? |
| Assessment & Analysis | We synthesise the evidence, identify common themes, and determine the resulting maturity score and recommendations. |
| Presentation | We deliver the report and present findings and recommendations to your stakeholders. |
Typical duration:
- Planning and awareness (non-billable): 1-2 meetings, at least 5-10 days before initiation
- Discovery, assessment and presentation (billable): approximately 20-25 days, subject to scope and scale
What you get
- A briefing presentation at kick-off and interim results
- A detailed report covering:
- Executive summary and overall recommendations
- Assessment method and scope
- Maturity scoring summary and results overview
- Findings and recommendations for each core dimension (strengths, risks, implications)
- A 12-month recommendations roadmap, split into quick wins, mid-term and longer-term actions
- An executive report plus a sponsor-ready summary deck and readout session
- Optional supplementary findings for any agreed deep-dive focus areas
After the assessment
Your decision-makers review the report and agree which recommendations to action, in full or in part. Some organisations absorb the resulting work into their existing programme. Many find it exceeds their current capacity. ITSM Hub can support you from there with advice, coaching, or contractor resources, scoped to what you actually need.

Backed by SIAM certification training
An assessment tells you where the gaps are. Certified people close them. ITSM Hub is accredited by EXIN to deliver SIAM™ certification training, built on the same Scopism SIAM Body of Knowledge that underpins this assessment, so your training and your maturity roadmap are aligned to one methodology, not two.
- SIAM™ Foundation Course & Examination - core SIAM terminology and principles, for anyone working across internal and external service providers
- SIAM™ Professional Course & Examination - applying SIAM to real scenarios, for consultants, service managers, and programme leads driving the model day to day

Frequently asked questions
What is a SIAM Maturity Assessment?
It's a structured, evidence-based review of how well your Service Integration and Management model performs in practice. It scores your maturity across governance, process, tooling, reporting and people, and delivers a prioritised roadmap to improve it.
How is this different from SIAM certification training?
Training certifies individuals in SIAM principles and practice. The maturity assessment evaluates your organisation's actual SIAM model against those same principles and tells you where it's falling short. Most organisations benefit from both: trained people operating a model that's been independently assessed.
Who delivers the assessment?
ITSM Hub delivers the assessment in partnership with Scopism, the organisation behind the SIAM Body of Knowledge, using Scopism-approved consultants and methodology.
How long does a SIAM Maturity Assessment take?
Planning and awareness typically run 1-2 meetings across 5-10 days before the assessment starts. The billable discovery, assessment and presentation phases usually take 20-25 days, depending on scope and scale.
Do you deliver this assessment on-site or remotely?
Both. The assessment can be delivered virtually, on-site, or as a hybrid, depending on your organisation's preference and locations.
Which regions do you cover?
ITSM Hub delivers the SIAM Maturity Assessment across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
What do we get at the end of the assessment?
A detailed report with maturity scoring, findings and recommendations by dimension, and a 12-month roadmap split into quick wins, mid-term and longer-term actions, plus an executive summary deck and readout session.
