Foundation introduces the DTMethod® framework and gives you the core knowledge to get started. Professional takes that learning further at the next certification level. Current course prices range from $1,450 to $1,950 AUD.

What does DTMethod® cover?

DTMethod® brings Design Thinking into a framework built around three connected elements:

DTModel: guides the design process through Exploration, Creative, and Construction phases.
DTTools: provides tools for understanding users, needs, stories, personas, and requirements.
DTRules & Roles: sets out the roles, interactions, and principles that support collaborative, iterative work.

What should you know before enrolling?

Both certification courses are instructor-led, with virtual classroom delivery available. Here are some things to know before you enrol:

Duration: Foundation runs for 3 days; Professional runs for 2 days.
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for Foundation.
Exam: Course options include the examination, with Foundation participants receiving a web-based exam voucher issued by APMG International.
Delivery: Training is available for organisations across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, with virtual delivery making it easy for teams in different locations to participate. Private and customised options are also available.

Can your team experience Design Thinking in practice?

Design Thinking in Action: Business Simulation is a one-day immersive workshop designed to help teams put Design Thinking into practice. Through a hands-on business simulation, participants can work through the process together, explore ideas, and practise collaborative problem-solving.

For more team requirements, explore our customised workshops or business simulations. Depending on your organisation’s goals, Design Thinking can also work alongside Agile & Scrum and Organisational Change Management.

Do I need experience before taking a design thinking course?

Foundation has no prerequisites, so you can start without previous DTMethod® experience. Professional is the next step in the certification pathway.

Can design thinking training be delivered for a whole team?

Team training and customised workshops can be arranged for organisations. The Design Thinking in Action simulation offers a practical, team-based way to apply the concepts, or you can request a quote to discuss a format specific to your needs.

Is the exam included in the course price?

Yes, course prices are inclusive of exams. Foundation participants receive a web-based exam voucher as part of the course, with the exam scheduled separately after training.
